Good Hair & Makeup Day

Do you ever have one of those really good makeup days which was a fluke really but then turned out brilliantly?! Well you know what I’m going to have to document this lest I forget what I used and as a reminder of how I can feel my best self, which to be honest I haven’t quite felt recently. I have this horrible habit of comparing myself to eveyone and anyone, but I’m getting better at that. My roots are a totall disaster ( isn’t everyones ) so I thought I’d have a go with the old GHD’s which by the way never do what I want them to do when I need them to do it! Low and behold they worked an absolute treat today! I feel like a new woman ha! It’s amazing what a bit of slap and a jolly jumper can do. I’ve started in incorporate more colour into my wardrobe because it’s such a mood booster and it’s fun!

Here is what I used:

Do you mix you foundations? If you have a foundation that is too light or too dark try mixing them togeather to create the pefect mix. You can also mix a matte foundation with a more dewy foundation to give you your desired finish. I like a longwear foundation that’s not going to rub off if I touch my face and for me Estee Lauder Double Wear is the perfect choice for that. I wear the shade 3N1 Ivory Biege, which is too dark for me on it’s own but mixed with my second favaourite, bareMinerals BarePro in the shade 12 Warm Natural, creates my custom blend in shade and finish.

I recently picked up the L’Oreal Infallible More Than Concealer in the shade Cashmere. It is an obvious dupe of my beloved Tarte Shape Tape. It doesn’t quite beat it though so I tend to mix it. What am I a mixologist?!

I’m not one usually for big eyeshadow palettes but I simply could not resist this one from ColorPop. It’s called Stone Cold Fox ( the name already sold it for me ) and it’s a plethora of cool toned neutrals with the perfect balance of soft shimmers and creamy mattes. I adore every single shade in this palette especially the dusty rose shades. Each shadow is buttery soft and applies like an absolute dream. This is my first time trying anything from this brand and I have to say they do not dissappoint. Excellent quality with a reasonable price point.

I still rate Benefit box blushers and powders and these are some I’ve used for years. Dallas is an incredible natural shadow creator and I often use it under bronzer for extra definition. Rockateur is probably my most favourite blush as it looks fresh and radiant on the skin. Last but not least is Cookie which is a silky soft champagne tone highlighter that won’t pick up texture on bumpy skin.

I think this will be my 2021 signature makeup look as it makes me look and feel my absolute best!

What makeup makes you feel good? Do you have a particular go-to look?
