Hello lovely reader, welcome to Monday Makeup! I don’t know about you but I relish the start of a new week! I seem to have the most energy on a Monday which slowly diminishes by the end of the week! Anyway, do you ever have those really good makeup days? You know the ones where your face actually complies with your products? Well, today happened to be just that. I’m so pleased with how this look has turned out and I thought I’d share it with you, so you can have a go! I didn’t use anything new, it’s all the same products I’ve been loving for the past year.

Skin prep is the first step to creating a flawless base! I might sound like a broken record here but trust me you need to get your cleansing regime in gear! If your makeup is disappearing by lunchtime chances are you’ve skipped moisturiser or are in need of a good exfoliation. That’s another blog post for another time. Back to the makeup, my all-time favourite ‘Holy Grail’ foundation is the bareMinerals BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid which has a built-in SPF of 20. (This doesn’t mean you get to skip your daily sunscreen!) I have oily/combination skin and this is one of the only foundations that stays put all day without breaking down or getting shiny.

Concealer, Tarte Shape Tape has been my ride or die for the last two years now, I have not even been tempted to stray. This may not be to everyone’s liking as it dries down matte so if you have more mature or dry skin this one is not for you try Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer. I have along with my oily face, oily eyes and this is the only concealer that does not crease on me. It is also great on any part of your face. I’m trying out this new velvet blending sponge which I purchased from Amazon but I’m not sure what I think about just yet. I shall keep you posted.

Next, it’s time to add some colour and dimension using bronzer and blush. Benefit Hoola is a cult classic and I can see why it makes you look like you had a week at the beach. It’s a soft matte, natural-looking bronze that doesn’t pull orange. It’s excellent for creating that sharp cheek contour or liberally applying all over your face and neck. I love it!

This bareMinerals Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Copper has to be my most used palette to date! The shadows are unbeatable, buttery soft and super blendable every shade gives the most beautiful pigment. I highly recommend! I used Gypsy all over the lid, Truth in the crease, Aura on the centre of my lid and Wild Child as liner.

This lip combo is my go-to for Autumn/Winter. bareMinerals BAREPRO long-wear lipstick in the shade Petal is the ultimate mauve, the formula is super soft, creamy and matte. It won’t bleed or dry out lips. It’s the most comfortable matte lipstick I’ve ever tried. MAC Soar compliments this beautifully. I like to top it all of with Buxom White Russian for a super luxe finish.

So there you have it! I can safely say that Monday was a good makeup day that just had to be captured and shared.
